His Grace is Enough

So a friend of mine and I were talking one day as we ran into each other at the store.  She was a little upset about some recent events in her home.  During the course of our conversation....somehow it strangely came around to God's grace.  She admitted to me that she really didn't understand what that meant exactly.  I had to admit at one time as a  new Christian I also really understand what His "grace" was either.  I told her what I knew to let her digest that, but told her I would email her some information after I did some study.  I found this short couple of statements via http://www.acts17-11.com/mercy.html.
  1. Mercy--not getting what you do deserve / withheld punishment
  2. Grace--getting what you don't deserve / unmerited favor
Ephesians 2:4-10

But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!) For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus. So God can point to us in all future ages as examples of the incredible wealth of his grace and kindness toward us, as shown in all he has done for us who are united with Christ Jesus.
God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. 10 For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

Without His grace, there would be no hope. I think we sometimes don't understand just how much we are loved by God.  So much so that he saved us while we were yet sinners and that there is nothing that can separate us from that love.

I don't always understand the "why's" of anything.  His ways are higher than our ways and His thoughts higher than our thoughts (Isaiah 55:9) and I don't always need to know "why", but to understand that God is in control and I have faith in Him that He knows what He is doing.

I'm thankful for His grace. Without it I would not know Him or find myself in right standing with Him (righteous, not self righteous, but righteous in Him). He has poured out His love on me and His grace is all I need.
So we praise God for the glorious grace he has poured out on us who belong to his dear Son.[b] He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins. He has showered his kindness on us, along with all wisdom and understanding.(Ephesians 1:6-8)

Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. 2 Corinthians 12:9

So I hope when you read this, you understand how loved you are by our Lord.  He died for YOU.  You are a whosoever. Know His grace, mercy, and love are the answers to all your questions.
